Featuring photographers from Latin America, India, China, Germany, the U.K., and the United States, the 2010 finalist roster underscores how culturally and creatively diverse the Masters program has become. The public is invited to vote for their favorite image in each category by registering online at www.hasselblad.com/masters-finalists. No registration is necessary to view the images, which will be online now through October 31, 2011.
The Masters are being selected by two juries: a Hasselblad Masters Jury and a Hasselblad Public Jury. The Hasselblad Masters Jury features 14 of the industry’s most respected photographers and prominent editors, who cast the majority of votes. Each jury member may submit up to 50 points in each of the 11 categories, casting 11 x 50 points or 550 points in total.
The Hasselblad Public Jury, which counts as one jury member, has 550 points altogether—the same as each Hasselblad Masters Jury Member. These votes will be tabulated and allocated to the 110 Masters finalists on November 31 of this year.
The remaining votes will be cast by a distinguished panel of industry professionals from around the world: Efrem Raimondi (Italy), Anton Corbijn (England), Joachim Ladefoged (Denmark), Steve McCurry (USA), Danqing Wen (China), Tim Flach (England), Hasse Persson (Sweden), Xie Mo (China), Douglas Kirkland (USA), Thomas Gerwers (Germany), Peter Bialobrzeski (Germany), and Grant Scott (England).
